I have sent Facebook messages and called your phone number. I have not got a response. You charged me over $28,000 for a roof that leaked before it passes inspection. Now I’m on the third leak in the same spot. You guys came out and said you used the wrong nails and would be back to fix it. It’s been over a month and it’s not fixed. I’m filling a better business report, after that going to my insurance company and getting a lawyer.
Does anyone else that is having issues with this company and Jessie, want to get together and seek legal counsel. I’ve had it with them. I just wanted them to fix their mistake but they won’t. I say we all get together.
UPDATE 4/13/21- roof still leaking, no one will respond back to calls. Office in the Springs is now vacant with an ‘Available’ sign out front. Not sure what else to do. Going to file a complaint with the county, BBB, reach out to the news and start looking for an attorney.
UPDATE 3/22/21- well Roy came and ‘fixed our roof’ and guess what... 2 weeks later and it’s STILL LEAKING! Same spot as always...
Avalanche replaced our roof after a hailstorm in 2017 and now it’s leaking (AGAIN). Phone numbers aren’t working and tried to drive by their Colorado Springs office and mail is piled up outside the door. After they reroofed our house it leaked once and they ‘fixed it’ and now it is leaking again from a heavy rainstorm we had last week. This company has been nothing but trouble- poor workmanship and it’s always one excuse after another. Since they need to stand up to their side of the deal, which they had already been paid in full, that’s why we have been trying to get ahold of them. Going to have to call our insurance to either go after them or hopefully let us use a new roofer and have it covered and not pay out of pocket for Avalanches lack of quality and care!
My saga started with the Jun hailstorm of 2018. Avalanche did a good job on the roofing replacement (so good that we hired them to do our 2nd house). After the roof repair, things began to slow down, it took months to get the gutter and paintwork done. The window replacement/repair work is not complete even though it is in our contract and I have paid in full (yeah, that was a BIG mistake on my part). Now, the owner is ghosting me and will not acknowledge or return my calls. The ladies working in the office seem nice and apologetic that this is happening but that's not getting my house repaired. I've contacted the BBB and will make sure to put this on ever review site I can find. Do not do business with this company; if you do, NEVER pay until ALL of the work is complete. Their PM advised me of that early on but I didn't heed his warning (he's since left this company...). If you check the reviews going back, this seems to be a pretty normal approach for Jesse (the owner). He follows up here but you never see people coming back to say he made it right.

Where to start...OK...Hail storm May/June 2010. Contracted Avalanche to do roof and siding. Roof came first, then siding. Not knowing what to look for, I accepted the siding job. An inspector pointed out some siding installation issues. This notification was done within a year of installation. Inspector supposed to notify Avalanche of results. After a year and a half STILL WAITING! Have called over 20 times. STILL WAITING! Been lied to by the owner (Jesse) and by the “current” project manager (PM) (Roy) as well as the past three PMs. Over 100 pictures taken by the PMs as to improper installation. STILL WAITING! Always an excuse, a promise, another lie. I see 4 and 5 star satisfaction ratings here. Rather suspect based on my experience. I have notified the BBB. Avalanche won’t make money on this installation correction. I’m sure they just want me to go away. I have siding missing and falling off. STILL WAITING! In my opinion, Avalanche is unscrupulous, dishonest. BUYER BEWARE!!
Keep in mind this has been paid by the insurance company yrs ago. since your response says you don't change prices I have three estimate's that were sent to state farm I have it on paper three different quotes after the job was done.2 yrs ago!!! Didn't have a problem until new owner!!! And state farm has left a message today on behalf of the client. Without saying names. They have been changing the prices with the insurance company. 2 years after the job is done each time the state farm ask for estimate it has gone up $10,000 each years that the job had been done. They made a mistake and didn't get approval for something. Insurance questions it and they raise the price each time.
We have been trying to get our house painted for over a year. They have our deposit but still no paint. I call a couple times per week and all we hear is that they’re waiting to schedule us. I’ll be happy to re-submit a review once the house is painted! I’m so disappointed because when we initially started working with this company, all of their reviews were good, but since then it seems service has declined based on the reviews in the past year.
Was not too happy with this company. In the beginning they were doing well but contractors broke my patio roof accidentally and Avalanche did not even call, text or email that they made a major booboo and were going to fix and pay for the damages on my patio
roof. Come to find out that they fired their contractor and had a new one replace him. I talked to that person but never heard from him since. Owner did not even bother coming to the house to inspect the damages himself. It’s been a year now and I had another company fix my patio roof. Avalanche needs to be more mindful of their contractors and they do not inspect how the work is being handled on a weekly basis. I would hire another company if I were you.
I just wanted to also say that you contacting me numerous times is a lie. We had waited patiently for a phone call or a text or somebody to come and let us know what was really happening to our roof. You also said that your company did not damage our roof. Well, let me say I have a voicemail message stating otherwise. And COVID-19 happened only early this year. It did not happen in 2019. So many excuses and no action. The longest communication with your company is happening only now that I am writing this response. So sad that we did not ruin your reputation in this city, you did that on your own.
Second post: It is comical that the owner replies now when I received no response to several requests to resolve this problem. The workman came by and promised to remedy the situation, then another couple of months passed. No email, no phone call from him or anyone at the company. After yesterday's hailstorm, I needed my roof inspected, so I called another recommended company. My entire roof will need replacement again. There is no way Avalanche gets that job! It is pointless to have Avalanche repair their sloppy work at this point. I wash my hands of an unethical company that could not fulfill their warranty or manage a simple phone call to let me know what was going on and explain four months of delays. Suddenly Avalanche is ready to do something? Hardly. Avalanche has now used every excuse in the book. I had similar problems with this company long before the virus hit. Avalanche will never work on my home again and I plan to keep spreading the word of their poor service.
Initial post: This company does not honor its warranty. A recent inspection by another roofing contractor found their work substandard. Beware of Avalanche Roofing & Exteriors, they are not the ethical local business they profess to be. Just look at the leaks seen in the attached pic from a new skylight that they installed improperly and refused to fix.
UPDATE 3: I was contacted by the owner asking me to take down this review because of slander and because the roofing company is not connected to his rental business. I understand this company is not his rental business however this is the company and phone I was asked to call when dealing with our rental. There was not a separate staff for rentals. This is not an attempt to do anything more than communicate what we experienced in renting and communicating with the owner and the staff in the CO office so that others are aware.
UPDATE 2: After many back and forth messages, broken promises and unprofessional messages from the owner, we finally received our deposit (in full) 38 days after we moved out. We had to threaten small claims court before he became serious about giving us our deposit. I am thankful to be finished with Avalanche Construction/Avalanche Roofing and Exterior/Peaceful Valley Land Holdings LLC.
UPDATE: He finally texted today (5/6) and is saying that we did not notify him of the date we were turning off the electricity, therefore ice leaked from the fridge and ruined the floor meaning we would not get our full deposit back. I provided him with a screenshot showing the message I sent to him in early April with the dates of all utility shut offs that he never replied to. He will not respond to this nor to my phone call. I understand landlords have 30 days from move out to return a deposit and we are fine with that timeline. We are not ok with not showing up for scheduled appointments, disrespectful lack of communication and having no integrity in your business dealings. We also keto notifications that our rent is past due because he has not updated anything. His exact words in a text message were “I don't report on your credit. I also have a statutory. 30 days to return your deposit. it has not been 30 days so you don't get your deposit yet. It also leaked because you turned the electric off without notifying me and the ice melted and ruined the floor apparently I haven't seen it yet but now it smells like a wet dog so I have to figure that out. so you need to just cool out and wait the time. That your statutory required to wait.” Unfortunately not very professional.
We rented a home in Joplin, MO that was a new build by Jesse Russow with Avalanche Roofing and Exteriors from Jan 2019-April 2030. During this time the complete lack of professionalism, responsiveness and overall quality was evident. Our home had a sewer backup within the first two days of our moving in. He blamed it on us and then after we pushed back discovered it was never attached to the main sewer line during construction. The sewer continued to cause us issues during our time and Mr. Russow had the audacity to claim that he had 14 days to get back to me on a maintenance item like a sewer back up. Our dishwasher was not working for two weeks. We had three maintenance tickets open for several months (and we moved out before they were addressed). He is absolutely terrible with communication and follow through. We paid our rent on time every single month. We took immaculate care of the property. We gave notice 45 days before move out and we set a time with his office to conduct a move out walkthrough on 4/28 at 10am. We waited at the house for one hour on him to show up and called/texted/emailed various contacts for this office during this time without a single call back and he never showed for the appointment. We have continued to message and call. Mr. Russow owes us a $2000 refundable deposit back and refuses to communicate at all. Only Lynn in the Joplin office has called us back but her hands are tied as she cannot give us our deposit. To date I have called his two personal mobile numbers, texted him, used the Cozy app to communicate using maintenance requests, emailed, called his Colorado and Joplin offices AND WE STILL HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING IN RETURN. I would say BUYER/RENTER beware with this company. We have not been impressed at all.
Ok so my initial dealing with this company was great. Customer service was really great actually, I was happy with the pricing, and everything that was discussed. It really has nothing to do with the company itself.
It’s to do with one of your contractors or whatever you call them these days. His name was James, I didn’t catch his last name but he was by far one of the most rude and unprofessional people I have ever had dealings with. My wife was nice enough to offer the guys some refreshments even after the disgruntled man was already rude to us, and he called her some names under his breath. I asked him to please say out loud what he called my wife, and he refused to repeat but started screaming at me saying he was going to call the police on me.
His coworkers basically ended up calming him down and he left and didn’t come back to finish the job. I tried calling in to complain about James and how he mainly disrespected my wife, but no one would listen to me so I thought I would take to google over the matter.
Avalanche, everything else was good. This employee? Not so much.
This is Sun Paschal. You know my situation.
I contracted with employ named "Caled Mondry" the date 11/10/ 2019 and I deposited half of the total construction cost. The Caled said the work will start one week later.
Now, nither Caled nor office ladies knows what is going on my order. a
the Caled not answering my phone nor replying my messages. I called so many time your office and only I can hearing "Don't know. I don't do schedule." The office not providing me the owner nor manager's phone #.They only saying do not know. I'm so frustrating.
Deat Jesse, please contact me and explain me what is going on.
I needed a roof certification letter with a quick turn around. After calling 5 roofing companies, Avalanche was the first to provide a reputable inspector within hours of calling. I had the letter in just two days. Jesse and his staff are exceptional.
The staff of Avalanche Roofing & Exteriors were very professional. I had my house exterior painted and am very satisfied with the work that was done. The price was very fair and the work was completed in a timely manner.
I’d say their performance and customer service speaks for itself, but absolutely not in a good way. They obviously don’t care about their customers with. It should not take 6 months to roof a house that’s just poor business management and a 1300sq ft house costing close to $15k Is robbery. I would advise anyone looking to get a roof done to avoid these guys at all costs. They put customers in bad situations and most of the time they will just ignore your messages and calls. Plus they like to take advantage of military personnel and veterans.
You better think twice before signing a contract with this company. I hired them two years ago, and everything went fine. I hired them one year ago, and it has been a nightmare. There has been one problem after another, and there is a total lack of communication within their company. The roof is not complete and an old vent that should have been replaced and later leaked ruined the sheetrock in my bathroom. The gutters are messed up, and they can't seem to get the materials together for the siding. All I do is waste my time repeating myself, and I feel like they just pacify me. They send people out to work on my house without scheduling it with me. I relied upon them to know what needed to be done, and I would have been better off hiring my own contractors.
I have known Jesse since he was 9 years old. I worked for his Grandpa, then Jesse worked for me 6 years later. Three years after that I was working for him. He is a fine young man of the highest integrity, work ethic, and humble to the end. It's been a pleasure watching him throughout his career.
Best customer service I have EVER had the pleasure of coming across. This business is the definition of A+ standard. If you need a new roof, NO PROBLEM. These people mean business and stand by their work with excellence. HIGHY RECOMMEND.
Signing a contract with Avalanche for my roofing and exterior is the biggest mistake in my entire life. They are unprofessional (especially Blake and Carl whom i heard had been fired), and all what they care about is their money. Whoever is reading this review, please be careful and make the right decision by not giving them the contract. Total bunch of lairs from receptionist to the manager (James). One worse thing is their contract is full of grammatical errors, therefore you barely understand what the hell they talking about. If I have to give them any stars, I will give them negative 5 rating. BE AWARE OF THIS ROOFING AND EXTERIOR COMPANY BECAUSE THEY SUCK!
We had roofing, painting and gutters replaced after last years jail storm. The roof has a lifetime warranty and was put on quickly and efficiently. The painter was a true professional and did an outstanding job, paying a lot of attention to detail. Our contractor Matt Roskos is a very knowledgeable and personable guy who helped us all through the process. I would highly recommend Avalanche roofing and exteriors.
Setting up an inspection and estimate with Avalanche Roofing was a pleasure. We contacted several well reviewed roofing companies and Avalanche was the quickest to respond and send out an inspector. Our inspector, James P (ask for him), was a great person to deal with. James was here on time. He asked very thorough questions and then got right to work. After the inspection he took the time to show us the photos of our roof and give us a very detailed run-down of the issues we were facing. In talking with him we mentioned that our roof had been replaced about 18 months ago and he encouraged us to go back to our contractor (who he was kind enough to say did an overall good job) to make a warranty claim. We greatly regret our original choice in contractors, stick to just 3 dimensions folks, but we will give them a chance to fix their work. If they are unwilling or if we EVER have any problems Avalanche Roofing will be the first folks that we call. I really wish we had used them for the hail-storm re-roof. Give these folks a call. Great folks and great customer service.
Avalanche did a wonderful job on my roof installation. They met the adjuster and were able to get the roof approved by my insurance company. Clean up was great and the installers were polite. There was some rotten decking that they found when they took the old shingles off.I appreciated them letting me know even though I had to pay extra. I just wanted it done right.
Very professional, clearly communicated what would/could qualify for my hail damage claim, what my options were, and how the process would work every step of the way. Actually communicated throughout the process and kept me up to date.
I had to replace my roof in 2012 and found this company to be AMAZING! They where VERY professional and honest. No hidden costs once the job was done! No problems or leaks with the roof and it’s been 5 years. I can call to ask questions or have someone come out and show/explain things to me. I don’t trust companies now a days as they aren’t what they use to be but this company...I fully trust!! Keep up the excellent work!! Jennifer B
I chose this company after I extensively researched and contacted a few previous customers. The initial walk-through was promising, as was the communication with the installation. My first concern became present when the supply delivery truck left a basketball sized oil spill in my driveway. I addressed this concern with my project manager he told me that he'd take care of it. Weeks went by and still an oil spot. I took it upon myself to power wash. After the install, they promised to sweep the yard for nails and trash. That too was not the case. My 6 year old got a quarter for every nail he found on our property. Well, he found over 40! The PM stated if the installers can't come back that he himself would sweep the yard. Once again, still waiting for that. I also had some other issues that came up, so I decided to email the owner and the financial manager. I kindly stated all my issues with the current process and how unsatisfied I was with their communication. I also asked for someone other than the PM to contact me. That never happened. In fact, I learned that the owner specifically told the office manager not to respond to my email. Instead, they have the one person I did not want to speak with call me. I am amazed by the lack of integrity and customer service this company portrays. The owner couldn't take 5 minutes of his time to email or call me to discuss the concerns I had. I would recommend finding another company for roofing needs.
They subcontract their paint jobs out but didn't make that clear until a variety of painters called to "see" my house. Went through 2-3 painters before one was willing to do the job for the Avalanche bid price. I had to repeatedly stop him from painting on days when it was below 35 degrees (too cold for the paint to stick). Four months elapsed from signing the contract getting my house painted, but weather was a factor. The painter left tools and debris at the site. He pressure washed window frames that we had specifically agreed (with him and the contractor) to have hand sanded, resulting in a poor outcome. To their credit they took the time and effort to send a rep to the house and discuss all my concerns.
Just have to say that all the dealings I had with this company were outstanding. Extremely professional in every aspect of the job. Will highly recommend you in the future to everyone I know needing work done on their home. Thank you again for the hard work and dedication you provided to my home.
My original insurance claim adjuster came out and looked at my house briefly; he missed quiet a few things. I was not aware of this until the Project Manager of Avalanche Roofing and Exteriors- Aaron Tucker brought this to my attention when he examined my house. He was thorough and patient in explaining everything to me and helped me submit the claim to my adjuster. Unfortunately, my case was passed along to a second claim adjuster and by then my claim was almost ending. Aaron was kind enough to assist me in extending the claim through the insurance company. He went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service and I would definitely refer others to Avalanche Roofing and Exteriors. Thank you so much for everything you have done!
Working with the staff at Avalanche was an excellent experience! We no longer live in Colorado and heavily relied upon Tyson to help us make decisions regarding multiple repairs on the exterior of our home. He was informative, flexible, and patient with us. We are extremely satisfied with the service we received and the finished product.
Tyson at Avalanche provided quality and friendly service during my roof replacement. He quickly noted errors in my insurance claim process and worked with my insurance company to get the estimates adjusted and paid out correctly. The staff at Avalanche are friendly and responsive. Courtney was a great help in getting the certificate of completion and my final invoice settled and she even caught my discount was missing and quickly updated my invoice. My roof looks even better now than it did before the great hail storm of 2016. Avalanche Roofing and Exteriors is a solid and trustworthy company that is veteran friendly and they have my business for as long as I live in Colorado Springs.
I can tell you first hand working with Jesse, Aaron and their team, that they provide the BEST product/components/warranties and service in the industry. Avalanche has been operating in the shadow of pikes peak for a decade and stands behind every one of the thousands of roofs , repairs and warranties that Colorado Springs deserves and has come to expect. Avalanche sets the standard and raises the bar!!
Avalanche did a great job for us on an 11 building condo complex. Not only did they do a great job on the roof, they redesigned our ventilation with a unique system that made it work properly. Their expertise made each unit in our complex more efficient. I would recommend them to anyone!
We were in the process of selling our home when the July hailstorm destroyed the roof. Avalanche Roofing went above and beyond to get our roof completed quickly. They did a fantastic job from start to cleanup! Highly recommend this company. Should I ever need this type of service again, they will be my first and only call.
I would just like to start out and say Avalanche is by far the best roofing company in CO. Aaron and Marc were two of the most professional and honest men I have met in quite some time. They made sure my insurance company paid what they should have and gave me the best roofing system on the market!! Thanks Avalanche for everything you did. The most honest and caring people I've met in years! I look forward to using Aaron and Marc again in the future the next time Mother Nature trashes my house!
Just Unbelievable Great Service! As a old retired USAF CMSgt, I've been through a couple of roofing jobs in the past, but the team at Avalanche Roofing is by far the best roofing company I've ever dealt with. Give them a chance, you will not be disappointed.
Avalanche Roofing & Exteriors negotiated with my grandmothers insurance on the items they didn't pay for. Which made it easier on her & our family. The only thing we really did was tell the insurance that they have our permission to speak with Avalanche. The customer service Avalanche has is absolutely incredible, the girls in the office are very helpful in explaining what they can. And being a local Colorado Springs business we know that we would not have the struggles of going with a storm chaser team. I have recommended Avalanche Roofing & Exteriors to everyone I can.
